The Marin County Civic Canter in beautiful San Rafael is the only government facility designed by renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright (1869-1959) to be built. It was erected in two stages: the administration building was completed in 1962, and the hall of justice was completed in 1970.

It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

Funding for this Carnegie library was granted on December 20, 1904 in the form of $25,000. It stands at 1100 E Street. Today is is simply a wing of current San Rafael Public Library building.
