As we travelled through the Florida Everglades following a so called "trail" in our airboat, it was almost impossible to get close to the birds given the loud engine that propelled our flat bottomed boat. This image is an example of how many birds (mostly Great Egrets and White Ibis with a few Wood Storks mixed in) took flight well before our arrival at their feeding location. Sawgrass borders the narrow watery path.
