It's hard to know for sure, but I think she's pregnant. At any rate there was some interesting movement on her belly and she was taking some deep breaths in spite of lying down "resting". Any dairy farmers out there know anything about this?
So a deep breath for me, starting not one, but two 52 projects. This one, here with Family Photographer friends, and another with monsieur milou in the group 52 weeks for dogs. See how it goes...
My reading on the train - fiddling with manual settings to practice seeing and setting using the zone system.
The task of the week is Exposure - The Zone System (unit 6 of David duChemin's The Visual Toolbox).
I'd heard about it a lot without ever really diving in, so I went through the chapter and his assignment. Unfortunately, his explanation didn't do it for me, so I went hunting around and found a great article that connects the theory with the practice in a wonderfully clear way.

That's a page from the printed article in the photo.
this week's assignment: David duChemin's Visual Toolbox, Master the Triangle.
It involved fiddling with the settings speed/aperture/iso to get a better feeling for them. Like doing scales.
This photo caught my eye on the street this morning (not while doing scales).
This week's practice was slow shutter speed, so I went to my favorite movement place, the train station.
I think a wider angle would have made a more interesting scene, but anyway. Fun practice.
had some fun with intentional camera movement last week. (Another unit from David duChemin's book of 60)
These weekly "tasks" feel like tools that are collecting in my box - fun to play with and think of using again.
