Trail View Overlook - Overlooking the Bright Angel Trail on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona

The Bright Angel trail takes you from the South Rim (elevation 6,800 feet), down to the river (2072 feet). And if you're really ambitious you can take the North Kaibab trail from Bright Angel Creek up to the North Rim. But you'd better be in REALLY good shape if you decide to do that 'cause it's 22.5 miles from the BrightAngel trasilhead on the South Rim to the North Rim, and another 2 miles if you plan to rest up at the Grand Canyon North Rim Lodge before heading back to the South Rim.
But then, there's always the option of having a friend meet you on the North Rim at the North Kaibab Trailhead parking lot, and if your wheels leave the South Rim 9 or 10 hours after they dropped you off, both of you should arrive at North Kaibab at about the same time.
