Phaon Cresentspot (Phyciodes phaon) - Center Road, (a.k.a. P.A.P.I. Lights Road), Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, Wilson, Florida

Here, this video of the BF shows off its flashy PAPI colors (PAPI lights are usually red and white and red as pink), though little is known about how BFs figure their approach paths to flowers.

FYI - P.A.P.I. or PAPI is an acronym for Precision Approach Path Indicator, and in this case the lights at this location where used for Space Shuttle landings where there were no second tries.

Carpenterworm Moth (Prionoxystus robiniae; Hodges 2693) and a Green Anole (Anolis carolinensis) do battle on the Space Coast of Florida

Seems like the Anole's eyes were bigger than it's belly,
but you'll never win if you don't try!

Blackberry Looper (Chlorochlamys chloroleucaria) - The back porch, Boothbay Harbor Maine

I captured this guy by putting a tall glass over him, and sliding a file card under the top of the glass. He seemed to be comfortable sitting on the bottom of the glass, so I tipped it on it's side and took these pics.
