Actually the Saint John River where
160 Laughing Gull (Leucophaeus atricilla megalopterus)
32 Double-crested Cormorants
2 Ring-billed Gulls
1 Caspian Tern
1 Least Sandpiper (Calidris minutilla)
were sitting on and swimming around an abandoned dock on the Saint John, Titusville, Florida
A 14 shot, 100 mm (vertically held) composite image,
where I refocused between captures to keep everything in focus (from the bottom of the stairs to the end of the dock).
And since you can't see the final image in the viewfinder, you have to have a bit of experience, and a good imagination to "see" the possibilities.

Least Sandpipers (Calidris minutilla) on barnacle covered log - Indian River, Titusville, Florida
Eighteen shot composite
I used Adobe's PhotoMerge to stitch together 18 captures made with a long tele.
If this were printed 18 inches high at 300 DPI the 40,000 pixel length of this image would produce a print over 10 feet in length with roughly life size sandpipers.

Least Sandpiper (Calidris minutilla) - West Gator Creek Road, Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, Titusville, Florida
These guys are indeed tiny, and as a size reference I left the reflection of a nearby Dunlin in the crop in the comment section.
West Gator Creek road is the loop road off the kiosk parking area after you cross the Causeway onto the island,
but be sure you have good ground clearance and/or are prepared to drive around the large potholes
if you decide to venture out onto the "Gator" loop complex.
The complex is accessible to the public via West Gator Creek Rd, Gator Rd, East Gator Creek Rd, and Peacock Pocket Rd.
(FYI - note that the Peacock Pocket Rd connection is closed during hunting season).
