I saw this on my north facing window while the sun was setting. Took out my super zoom and put it on my tripod. Got out the Canon remote control RC-1 and set the lens to manual focus and non-VC. Took me a while to focus because my cheap tripod was wobbling on the carpet. This time the 60D saved the day because of live view with magnification. In the original RAW file, I was able to see the tiny air bubbles in the ice that may appear as noise patterns in this photo.

This was shot with the Tamron 28-300 VC, hand held, manual focus. Cropped from larger photo. Ice is amazing; you get something different every time. This photograph was made in the morning just before the sun melted the ice on my storm window.
