My wife and I went to Italy for the first time last month and were absolutely blown away by the beauty of the place. This view comes at the cost of sharing the moment with hundreds of other people, all clamoring for the same shot. A little patience paid off, however. I love the blue hour timing of this one.

So a bit of a funny story behind this one. I've seen a number of people post Milky Way images from these falls over the years and finally decided I should just try it myself, if for no other reason than I'd run out of other ideas. I went out to set it all up, only to realize almost all of the other images I'd seen of it were complete fabrications. The Milky Way core never actually tops the trees! Oh well, it was still a fun little project to mess with.

Apologies on the double post here. A friend pointed out I hadn't properly protected this location so I fixed that. :)

Anyway, I came across this abandoned ship and just had to try this as a Milky Way scene. Shooting out over the Gulf was a refreshing change from the heavily light-polluted skies near my house. It was definitely fun to play around with this one!
