This set has two vintage photo albums in it. The first album is a nice string tied album. Some of the pages are falling out. Some pages are dated 1915, 1916, & 1917. The 2nd album is just loose pages. No front or back cover. Some photos are dated 1930 & 31. All photos are solidly glued to the black paper album pages. Both albums came from Galva, Illinois & from the same family. This unadentfide family had ties to Bishop Hill and Rock Island, Illinois.. No identification on the family is available.
Some of the image subjects shows people, old cars, children, babies, parks, water falls, houses, a lock and dam on the Mississippi River near Quad Cities, flood waters, men cutting wood, ice skating & winter scenes. I have also seen photos from the Oregon, Illinois area. The Black Hawk Statue, Rock River, and Castle Rock State Park in the 1930's.
These are real interesting photos. About 240 of them in all. There is a stamp on one of the loose photos that reads " Goodley Studio, Galva, ILL." If you can ID any of the people or places, please do so.
This is a little glimpse into the past of rural small town life in Illinois, USA.
