MÁV-START 448.428 is seen performing an ECS shunt at Budapest-Keleti. Friday 3rd July 2015

These locomotives are part of the M44 family of shunting locomotives built at GANZ-MÁVAG and GANZ Electricity Works (Hungary) between 1956 and 1970.

Currently the only example of the type in traffic with FLOYD in Hungary, ex-BR Class 56 659-002 (56115) is seen approaching two fine semaphires as it runs round its train at Vácrátót whilst working 13250 the 08:55 Budapest-Keleti to Aszód. Friday 3rd July 2015.

FLOYD have two other ex-BR Class 56's, 659-001 (59101) which is currently undergoing repair and 659-003 (56117) which still in Fertis colours is currently stored pending a decision on its future which by all accounts could be better than the original purpose for which it was originally purchased for - spares!

Owned by MÁV-Nosztalgia and restored into its original livery M40.114 continues to earn its keep and is frequently hired out to private companies. It is seen here in Miskolc-Rendező on a short infrastructure train. Friday 3rd July 2015.

The M40 type was built by GyártóGanz–MÁVAG, Budapest

The first of twenty NoHAB's built in 1963 for MÁV (Magyar Államvasutak Zrt) has been saved by MÁV-Nosztalgia and restored for use on special trains. M61 001 is seen here at the end of the a freight only branch line at Ládi Rakodó having arrived with 31320-1 the 15:00 from Miskolc-Gömöri. Friday 3rd July 2015.

The line used to continue beyond here but is not maintained and can now be considered as closed.
