Plinthed at Krasnoyarsk in Siberia is this ВЛ60К mixed traffic locomotive built at the Novocherkassk Electric Locomotive Plant (NEVZ) between 1957 and 1967.
The ВЛ60 (VL60 - Vladimir Lenin, type 60) was the first ac Soviet trunk electric locomotive built in large-scale production, with a total of 2618 being produced and along with VL8 and TE3, it was one of the main locomotive types to run on Soviet Railways.
The locomotives of the ВЛ60 series originally went to Krasnoyarsk before being spread over the Soviet Union and by the mid-1970s all ВЛ60 electric locomotives have been converted into ВЛ60K with the replacement of mercury straighteners with semiconductor.
ВЛ60K-335 built in 1961 was plinthed as a monument at Krasnoyarsk in August 2016 and bears the following text on the side:
"Застыл Атлант былой поры — Герой эпохи в твердой стали. Так много сделав для страны,теперь стоит на пьедестале!"
"The Frozen Atlanta of the Past is a Hero of the Era in Solid Steel. Having done so much for the country, now it stands on a pedestal!"

In some wonderful Russian summer weather, RZD ТEP70-0505 (РЖД ТЭП70-0505) arrives at Tula with Train 480C from Sukhumi the capital of Abkhazia on the Black Sea to Sankt-Petersburg. Friday 2nd August 2019.
Here the train reversed with the ТEP70 being replaced by an electric locomotive.
