From Malta we're flown to an Allied held airfield South West of Paris. This is where the Volary met up with Lisah French and the French Forces of the Interior (the military structure of the French Resistance).
Our role is to help stage an uprising in Paris against the German Garrison. Lisah has been brought in as she has an in depth knowledge of the city. She had live and worked in Paris from the late 1920s until 1939. She also has a friend, Pierre, who is a leader of the Paris Resistance.
Our other role was work closely with Free French and link up with US Forces.
So on the night of 24 August when elements of General Leclerc de Hauteclocque 2nd French Armored Division made their way into Paris. Myself, Racing Pigeon and Lisah went to the the Hôtel de Ville to meet up with them advise them of the current situation in the city
Meanwhile Mocking and Liverbird met up with the US 2nd Armored Division and US 4th Infantry Division and other allied units (this include units of the SAS) as they entered the city. Again to advise them on the current situation.
We were all there to see General von Choltitz, Commander of the German Garrison and the Military Governor of Paris, surrendered to the French at the Hôtel Le Meurice.
Then General de Gaulle arrived to assume control of the city as head of the Provisional Government of the French Republic. We all met with him to debrief him. Then the Volary left soon after as we were to join units of the SAS. We left Lisah behind with Pierre to act as liaison between de Gaulle and the Allied Forces.
