Apologies for my almost-total absence from Flickr for the last 6 weeks or so. During this time, pretty much all my photography effort has gone into producing this video. We shot a bunch of kids over a period of two weeks during which time our front room was converted into a studio and then I spent another couple of weeks processing the images and editing the video.
The result of all this is a trailer for my wife's new children's novel, "The Sinister Sweetness of Splendid Academy", which was published by Razorbill (a Penguin imprint) last Tuesday. I hope you like it (and hope that any 8 to 12 year old kids you may have enjoy the book if they read it).
I would greatly appreciate your vote in the 2012 Photoblog Awards. Thanks!

The Canon Powershot G9 is a great little camera that also happens to take time lapse video. This film illustrates this capability showing the happenings at this year's FIRST Robotics Competition San Diego Regional at 24x speed.
This video was shot using a Joby Gorillapod which I attached to various railings around the arena. If you look closely you can probably find me in various shots since I typically left the G9 recording and headed off to shoot stills while it was doing its thing.
