The sandpiper is most common along the west coast of Jutland, where the birds are running back and forth in time with the waves.

The sandpiper (Calidris alba) is a wading bird that is quite common as a migrant in Denmark from the high Arctic parts of Russia and Greenland. It winters from the coasts of Northern and Western Europe along the west coast of Africa to South Africa. The scientific name alba means 'white' in Latin.
