Pretty sure this was in North Dakota.
As I was headed in to the grocery store, I passed this van. i noted the license plate with amusement. Once inside the store, I spotted the most Santa like person I've ever seen. He had gold-rimmed glasses, was wearing red (although not like the store Santas with white fir trim), had long white hair and a flowing white beard. He looked more like Kris Kringle than any Norman Rockwell portrayal could possibly attain. I can't tell you exactly what he was wearing, but it was predominantly red in a checkered kind of way. The minute I saw him in the store, I knew I had to ask him if he would pose next to the van for a pic.
I was out of the store before him and put my groceries in my car, then moved my car up closer to where this van is parked. Out he comes and he approaches the van from the passenger side and proceeds to load his groceries into the van. I waited patiently just out of sight, thinking that he would finish loading and then approach the driver's side of the van. I waited and waited, and nothing. So I moved to the passenger side and find that the cart is empty and he had closed the door and was now inside the van. Gone! Damn! Sieze the moment eh?
