The "Two Bears", by Marshall M. Fredericks, waiting in a side parking lot, to be put back in front of the Sterling Heights Public Library. The library's parking lot is in process of being replaced.
The Two Bears, were commissioned by the Friends of the Sterling Heights Public Library in 1981. It's a 6-foot bronze sculpture of a mother bear and a cub by Marshall Fredericks originally cast in 1964. There are 8 others in and around the Metro Detroit area and one each in Reno, Nevada and Brookgreen Gardens, South Carolina.
A NOTE - Further information notes that the bears are not mother and cub, but two separate kind of bears.
