I recently dropped by the “Trail Blazer” mural being worked on by artist Wendy Popko. She was quite busy, since the deadline in coming up in 2 weeks to finish. We had chatted earlier about the mural, that was commissioned by the city of Sterling Heights. It will be a very unique mural using AR - Augmented Reality, that will allow you to use an app on your cellphone to watch the mural come alive with movement. Graffiti Artist Wendy Popko's work of art, on the rear wall the BP gas station at Utica and Dodge Park Roads. She took her inspiration from the 6 foot tall statue by Marshall Fredericks, showing two bears - a small Black Bear and a much larger Brown Bear - titled "The Bears". It stands in front of the Sterling Heights Public Library, close by.
