The Delaware National Guard hosted the 25th Annual Senior Leader Conference at Delaware State University in Dover, Del., (on) Jan. 11, 2025. (Leaders) from the Delaware Army and Air National Guard gathered for leadership development, an overview of the state’s legislative priorities, and opportunities to network, share successes, and coordinate efforts for the year ahead. Distinguished guests included Delaware Interim Governor Bethany Hall-Long, Governor-elect (AP style to bring emphasis to the wording)

Matt Meyer, and Senator Chris Coons, who addressed the participants.

“We’ve gotten through the holidays, and we’re starting a new calendar year fresh,” said Delaware National Guard Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Michael Berry. “Hopefully, the Soldiers and Airmen here today will walk away rejuvenated and reenergized. I want them to look in the mirror, reflect on themselves, and transform the knowledge presented today back to their formations, and ultimately to their Soldiers and Airmen.”

This year’s conference featured Major General Darrin Slaten from the National Guard Bureau as the keynote speaker. He emphasized the importance of utilizing the talents of new recruits to address future cyber threats.
