Teaming up for the first time, as the the Army National Guard, Beebe Healthcare and other local first responders worked together today in a simulated emergency.
The overall purpose was to create a real life scenario that would allow nurses, national guardsmen and women and others in the healthcare field to practice an evacuation scenario, in this case calling it "Hurricane Bill". The situation featured six adults, five pediatrics, and four parents being evacuated from the simulated hurricane incoming. This was the first time nurses with Beebe Healthcare got to experience transporting patients to and from the powerful helicopter with assistance from the National Guard, even getting close enough to the helicopter to experience the force the Blackhawk outs off. The nurses compared the winds from the blades of the helicopter to the winds of a storm.
