The Delaware National Guard hosted a readiness center ground-breaking ceremony, 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 19th, 2023, at the DNG’s River Road Training Site in New Castle, Del.
The $25 million River Road Readiness Center will serve as the home of the Delaware Army National Guard’ 153rd Military Police Company and the 302nd Field Feeding Team. The state-of-the-art facility will allow both units to train at the highest level and meet the needs of a future force structure.
The nearly 47,000 sq. ft. readiness center will host a 5,400 sq. ft. drill hall with movable partitions that can provide three separate event spaces, 4,500 sq. ft. of classroom space, over 20 designated workstations, a media room and a conference room. To support the 302nd FFT a 1,726 SF full-service kitchen is also included within the readiness center.
Construction is scheduled to begin December 2023, with the anticipated completion in December 2025.
