I've been known to keep mistletoe hanging until the Fourth of July (you never know when you'll fancy a quick smooch) and I once kept a small pumpkin from Halloween until the following Labor Day (it only got mushy toward the end). We meant to carve this big fella into a Jack O'Lantern, but haven't quite gotten around to it. It was okay for Thanksgiving, in keeping with the harvest theme, but now he has got to go. He's taking up valuable real estate in our small living room. Still, I don't have the heart to discard him. Maybe he'll look nice under the Christmas tree?
