I don't usually do this type of thing, but we happened to be in Encino, so we went by the Jackson's family home. Having grown up with Michael Jackson's music, it felt important to acknowledge his passing and be a part of the public paying respects. When we were kids we cut the jackson 5 "ABC" single from the back of a cereal box and played it until it wore out. We watch the Jackson 5 cartoon on Saturday mornings in our PJ's. His songs always got people on the dance floor. I still have his "Off the Wall" album on vinyl, although my record player is long gone. Regardless of all the controversy that surrounded him later in life, he truly was a gifted, talented person. Above all, he was a father, a son, a brother, and my heart goes out to his family.
