A Tupper Lake landmark. We had a nice picnic and a bit of fishing just below the falls to the left. Didn't catch much but saw a beautiful loon.

In fields where we once went sledding, there is now a fantastic museum : The Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks, fondly referred to as "The Wild Center". It is a wonderful place to spend the day, and it's a great place to learn about the Adirondack Mountains.

My late grandfather was a dairy farmer, and these were once hay fields. One summer, when my mother was a teenager, the hay seeds were contaminated with mustard seeds, and she spent her summer pulling mustard weeds. To this day she won't eat mustard!
The woods are slowly, over time, reclaiming the fields, yet the tenacious yellow mustard remains.
