I always see faces in the world around me, I can't help it ;-D
While assembling this polyhedron "Star Prints", created by Aldo Marcell, I saw this face with a big surprise in the eyes and mouth, so I tried to translate that into a photo. To my big surprise the shiny surface created another distorted face, magical ;-)
So the 'Star' is looking at himself and wonders "Is that really me?"
Here you can see a different view.
Origami "Star Prints" is related to another origami dodecahedron I folded earlier: "Oleo", (also created by Aldo Marcell), which is an "easier" version, just a few creases less.
Folded from 30 pieces of double colored kami paper (7,5x7,5 cm).
No glue.
Tutorial can be found here.

This lovely origami model is called "Rain Star" or in Spanish "Estrella de la Lluvia", because when it was created by Aldo Marcell it was raining ;-)
I wanted to see what the difference is when I changed the color, so that's why you see 2 variations, I like them both....which one has your preference?
I put them on a mirror so you can see at the same time the other site.
Model: Origami Rain Star / Origami Estrella de la Lluvia
Designer: Aldo Marcell
Paper: 30 pieces of rectangle kamipaper 1:3 (2,5x7,5cm)
Final height: 8cm
There is a video tutorial by Evan Zodl, if you want to fold it too ;-)

""Hello…… well, here I am ;-)) …..and I am a folded Sea Lily ;-))""
Do you know, that sea lilies are some of the most attractive but least-known animals of the deep oceans and they looks like plants? ;-))
Thanks everyone for participating in the guessing game! Some of you were close…. . This origami modular model is the result of assembling 30 units.
I used double colored Kraft paper 10x20cm.
Final size: diameter 18cm
Model: origami Sea Lilies

Wishing you all a very swinging start of your weekend with these dancing stars ;-)
Here you see twice 5 joint elements of another origami-model I'm folding. The final model will look different, have a look if you want ;-)
I always find it interesting how color change works. Both stars have the same size, but at first glance the right seems bigger.
