Working out a new idea for an origami tessellation….
I had to start all over again, because my cat liked the folded white paper too and made an art work of her own of it…….I was not amused at that time as you can imagine.
Have a great start of your weekend!!!

This is how 'Dark' looks like when all the 6 elements are put together: a modular snowflake with a lovely star in the middle.
To show that this model is really 3D, I used a mirror, so you can see the star and the side. And now it seems this snowflake is floating on her own reflection ;-)) Magic is in the air !
Also I made another topview photo with backlight, where you see the 'Star' in the middle in a different way(s).

For the Macro Mondays theme 'White on White'.
Because we have no snow (yet), I'm folding origami-snowflakes instead. And especially for this occasion with a very little hexagon …..so it would fit the limit. Started with a hexagon about 8cm, final size 5cm. It was hard….. the others ones I will fold with a bigger paper ;-)
The background paper is the same as which the snowflake is folded with, and yet it looks different.
Happy Macro Monday!

Back to tessellation folding ;-))
Another way of altering a tessellation pattern is to change its centre.
On the first one photo (left) you see the one I started with, an irregular hexagon is in the middle, surrounded by rectangle-like hexagons.
In the middle I used the same pattern but now the little regular hexagon is the center and on the last photo (right) the big regular hexagon.
In the lower row you see the patterns on other side.
I photographed them at the same distance and you see the effect each pattern has on the paper.
The "Triplets" are all folded from the same size of 'Anett'-paper, hexagon 33cm, grid 1:72.
Before folding further, I thought it would be nice to show you this phase too ;-))
If you are interested to see more, have a look at my tessellation album Origami - Tessellation Progression".
