I bought this tiny pin (diameter is about 2cm) a long time ago at an origami convention and since then it has adorned one of my jackets.
The background is a textured gold foil.

For the Macro Mondays theme: Wrinkled.
You see a detail of the 'Wrinkle-Crinkle Hat", backlit. In the first comment box you can see the whole 'Hat', twice actually. First I took a backlit shot today of the whole hat and you see a photo in normal light, which I made 12 years ago….. I'm getting old ;-))
For the crumpling technique you use very very fine kraft paper. It's a bit magical, a few folds, you moisten, you wrinkle and crinkle. Keep repeating this several time until you are satisfied with the amount of wrinkles. Then you fold/shape it and dry your creation with a hair dryer and the paper keeps its folds.
While you might argue whether it's still origami or not, it is definitely an interesting technique.
The more I look at this detailed wrinkles the more I see, like a dragon, an owl, a gnome……..Can you see them too?

I don't remember (sorry too long ago), how big the used paper was, only that it were three layers, so you could create the 'rose edge'.
Still have this 'Hat' though, it has a diameter of 30cm and a height of 8cm.

It has rained way too much lately and when the sun even came out for a moment, everyone's mood was brighter. When I saw the pouring rain reflected on the shiny table, I just knew that this was the perfect backdrop for this little dragon. So rain has some good sides too ;-))
It seems we will be having some sunny days…….!!!!
This is also the last origami dragon in this series, still folding new one ;-))
