Another, more complex to fold, origami-torso. A beautiful design by Aoki Ryo (it can stand by itself btw). This model reminds me of somebody who is meditating.
I used blue elephant hide-paper, which has also a stone like structure.

I folded it from a square piece of 21cm, final height 12cm.

Merry Christmas everybody !!! Happy Holidays everybody !!! Happy Seasons Greetings everybody !!! Santa is here !!!
I like origami-Santa's a lot and I collect diagrams since years. It started with very simple ones, only suitable for cards and I decide to make ATC-cards*** (Artist Trade Cards) to create my Santa collection, when I had about 50 Santa's.
This third photo is a model with 4 variations and when I have an exhibition I place this one in the middle. This is twice the size of an ATC-card.
Here you can see part 1 and part 2 , my collection keeps growing and growing ;-))
All together you see 99 ATC-Santa's models, some with a little variation.
I will upload the list of designers later on.
These 4 origami Santa are all designed by Ryo Aoki and they are called ( from the left to the right:
- origami Santa Card
- origami Santa
- origami Stout Santa
- origami Stout Santa with a bag
Diagrams in NOA Magazine #488.
***Artist trading cards (or ATCs) are miniature works of art about the same size as modern trading cards baseball cards, or 2 1⁄2 by 3 1⁄2 inches (64 mm × 89 mm), small enough to fit inside standard card-collector pockets, sleeves or sheets.
The ATC movement developed out of the mail art movement and has its origins in Switzerland.
Cards are produced in various media, including dry media (pencils, pens, markers, etc.), wet media (watercolor, acrylic paints, etc.), paper media (in the form of collage, papercuts, found objects, etc.) or even metals or fiber.
The cards are usually traded or exchanged. When sold, they are usually referred to as art card editions and originals (ACEOs).(Wikipedia)

"Miauw, miauw……. I'm so happy to tell you she is back…..miauw", says the little origami cat.
I had a great time off and also folded a lot during my summer break, like this cute 3D-cat. It is standing on the same patterned paper as which it is folded from.
Hope you all are fine and in good health too. Happy Sunday ;-)
