An old piano (in real life) needed to be tuned again…….
This gave me the idea to fold this origami 'Upright Piano'. It is an old model created by Neal Elias (1967).

Diagrams:
- in the booklet: 'Neal Elias - Miscellaneous Folds-I' by Dave Venables
- in the booklet: 'Neal Elias - Furniture' by Dave Venables
- on the CD: 'The Origami World of Neal Elias' by Dave Venables and Marc Cooman

Folded from a rectangle (3:4) piece of two colored German wrapping paper, 26,25x35cm. Final height about 15cm.

Again I will be off for the rest of the week. Have a wonderful time too! Enjoy ;-))

""Surprise…surprise…!!!
Some chickens are very curious and want to step right into the big world…. shouting out loud "Here I am….. !!!!""

Neal Elias (1921 -2005), who designed this model, was one of the most important and influential figures of the modern origami.
He has great designs and they are very interesting and also much fun to fold!!
This origami model is a golden oldie, it was created in 1962.

I folded this from one piece of soft, fine-textured paper, 19,5x19,5cm, previously painted one side yellow.
Final size: about 10cm width and 11cm tall

Model: Hatching Chick
Design: Neal Elias
Diagrams:
- in the booklet 'Origami The art of paper folding 4' by Robert Harbin
- on the CD 'The Origami World of Neal Elias' by Dave Venables and Marc Cooman'

"""""Ho, ho ho", shouts the jolly Santa and he waves kindly to his fellow origami Santas, who travel by sleigh.
He himself, as you see, is on foot. He's put on his magic boots, which allow him to walk on clouds and also make reaching the daily steps goal a little easier.
Boots are made for walking, right???"""

This is an 'old' and complex origami-model (1970) and I think inspired how the real Santa was presented that time. Some people think Coca-Cola invented this figure, but I found this Info:
~~Coca-Cola did not create the legend of Santa Claus. But Coca-Cola advertising did play a big role in shaping the jolly character we know today.
Before 1931, there were many different depictions of Santa Claus around the world, including a tall gaunt man and an elf —there was even a scary Claus.
But in 1931, Coca-Cola commissioned illustrator Haddon Sundblom to paint Santa for Christmas advertisements. Those paintings established Santa as a warm, happy character with human features, including rosy cheeks, a white beard, twinkling eyes and laughter lines.
Sundblom drew inspiration from an 1822 poem by Clement Clark Moore called “A Visit from St. Nicholas” —commonly known as “Twas the Night Before Christmas".~~

""" YES!!! Finally Santa is here and immediately caught in the act by a famous Santa-spotter ;-)), but it's unclear if he's climbing out of a chimney, after leaving presents in that house or if he's been sleeping in a flowerpot.. ......
What do you think?"""

Although I will post the last picture of this Santa-series tomorrow, I would like to thank everyone for following it and the nice comments I received. It is much appreciated.
Many thanks for your friendship! ❤️

A Happy Xmas everyone or Happy Holidays with your beloved ones, enjoy the time together.
