At Muscatatuck NWR today a flock of Blue Jays started mobbing a 1st year Sharp-shinned Hawk, chasing it all around M4. The hawk would fly from tree to tree with the jays following. Occasionally the sharpie would turn the tables and dive on a jay. This went on for sometime until I lost them in the distance over the cleared area of the marsh.

An adult male American Kestrel was perched on a low limb out in the middle of the dry marsh. While observing the kestrel the sharp-shinned hawk flew in and landed near the kestrel. They seemed to ignore one another.

When the kestrel took flight the hawk chased and I lost them in the distance.
