The Model A Museum is located on the campus of the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners, MI. August 2015.
This is the last Model A built by the Ford Factory. The bare chassis did not have a body put on it during the normal production run. After completion, it was moved to the Ford Design Studios.
The chassis sat there for more than decade. In the mid-1940's, young Henry Ford II asked E.T. "Bob" Gregorie, the head of the Ford Design Department, to design a body for the chassis.
The new body design was assembled at the Ford Factory and presented to the new owner, Henry Ford II.
The car was first registered in 1944 and was garaged at the Ford Estate in Grosse Pointe Shores for many years. It was later given to Gregorie and he took the car to Florida.
After passing thru several owners, the current one has loaned the car to the Model A Museum.
