El 16 de mayo murió ya muy viejo el pianista y compositor de jazz estadounidense Henry “Hank” Jones (1918-2010) Durante su larga carrera musical formó parte de las principales corrientes de jazz anteriores a la vanguardia, como swing, bop y hard bop. Acompañó con su inigualable estilo, buena disposición, discreción y elegancia a los más grandes. Era hermano de otros dos grande de la música, Thad y Elvin Jones. Elvin fue el baterista de Saint John Coltrane. Aquí les dejo tres vínculos para que lo escuchen acompañando al piano al saxofonista Joe Lovano, luego tocando “I Got Rhythm”, con Billy Kilson, actual baterista del grupo que dirige el trompetista estadounidense Chris Botti, y finalmente interpretando Wave.
