It's been a while since I posted, so I took a look at the archives and realized that, while I've already upped a bunch of old
Jazz and Hip Hop concert photos, I've neglected the few indie rock gigs I shot in the past with my old P&S. Here's one from the Middle East four years ago: Camper Van Beethoven.
In the mid-late '80s, CVB were a wonderfully eclectic band that fused Eastern European music (with Middle Eastern, Klezmer, & Tex-Mex sometimes thrown in for good measure) with ska rhythms, comic / absurdist rock, folk, punk, psychedelia and healthy doses of social commentary and political consciousness. The band reformed in 2000 and toured to support a new album, New Roman Times, in 2005-2006. These shots are from that tour.
