Looking at the top half of the very cool, circular glass stairway at Boston's new Apple Store.

Although there are several Apple Stores in the Boston area (including one right across the river in East Cambridge), this is the first Apple Store in Boston proper. And it's a stones throw from my house! I can't wait to purchase the forthcoming 3G iPhone here next month (or sooner??)

NB: Before the store opened, the glass facade was cloaked in a Fenway Pahk green monster green cover with score board accents. See this Gizmodo article. We received free "Opening Day" green T-Shirts of the same design during the grand opening. Speaking of green, the store is semi-green, boasting a grass roof and system that diverts rainwater directly into the watertable. See another Gizmodo article.

I ran into my friend Mimi at the Grand Opening (with a five or six person wide line herded through police gates that stretched around the corner and down 2 full blocks, it's no surprise that I ran into at least one person I knew). Mimi was thrilled to bump into a Red Sox infielder every time you turned around.
