Unfortunately, some of the boats didn't come anywhere near the Esplanade side of the Charles River, but headed closer to the Cambridge side after emerging from under the Longfellow Bridge, Even more unfortunate, these few boats included those with David Ortiz and Koji. I was kicking myself for not hauling the 300mm telephoto along, but trusted the Boston Globe's route showing all the boats hugging the Esplanade shore.

The Rolling Rally (and floating parade) started from Fenway Park, wound through the Back Bay, stopped briefly at the Boston Marathon finish line near Copley Square (to pay respects to the victims of the April bombing), then continued Downtown, ending in a cruise up the Charles River along the Esplanade. I took these photos from the Esplanade. It was a gorgeous--nearly perfect-- warm, Fall day. GO BOSOX! Third World Series Championship in 9 years!
