The station dates from 1886. It opened on November 3, 1887 and was closed on January 1, 1936. From May 29, 1940 to January 5, 1941 it was open again for passenger services. Freight transport continued until 1972. Nowadays, the terminus of the tourist railway is Hoorn - Medemblik (SHM).

Het station dateert uit 1886. Het opende op 3 november 1887 en is gesloten op 1 januari 1936. Van 29 mei 1940 tot 5 januari 1941 was het weer geopend voor reizigersvervoer. Het goederenvervoer bleef bestaan tot 1972. Tegenwoordig is het eindpunt van de toeristische spoorweg Hoorn - Medemblik (SHM).
