today we took 80 litres of cider down to the mobile still that travels round various villages and towns. What you get back is 53 per cent eau de vie (in this case apple brandy) spirit. I'm delighted to say ours is already pretty smooth to drink, but you're supposed to keep it for about 2 months to allow it to mature. So hopefully it's going to be reasonable! 8-)
The 80 litres of original liquid reduces to about 8 litres of spirit.
