In the constant quest for water in the Namib desert the zebra waded through this waterhole during a period of extreme drought. Lack of rain had turned the water into a glutinous mass of mud.

Arriving on our side of the river the buffalo herd was faced with a difficult climb up the river bank. More buffalo were arriving all the time, all anxious to get out of the croc-infested river.
