Vs. with senior photographer. This gentleman came up to me while I was walking along Shijuku. He saw my Zorki from afar and came up to say hi. He spoke very good English for a Japanese, must have been some retired overseas photo-journalist. What caught my attention was his Contax 1 rangefinder which I read so much about. On it was a Tessar 3.5. Perfecto.

I mentioned that I read on this camera before and understand that the mechanics were rather, temperamental. He replied that it was the joy of using it all, given proper care, this camera will work like magic. Suddenly I realised that we are the of the same - We both love imperfection. The busy street and people went on, but the 2 strangers of entirely different culture, background and age stopped and chat about their common passion without the slightest barrier. It was certainly wonderful for the both of us.
