The old adage about the apple never falling far from the tree was probably never more true than it is with the cheetah. Due at some point in time to a genetic bottleneck, cheetahs have very little genetic variability. It is said that tissue from one animal can be transplanted to another without rejection. Now, I'm not sure why anyone would have done that but the concept is intriguing. Imagine if the same were true in humans. Lifesaving organ transplantation would be limited only by surgical considerations, perhaps only body size or age. Genetics aside, one thing is certain.
