Mother bears are responsible for not only feeding their cubs but also protecting them from dangers in the environment. Those dangers include other bears that can easily injure or kill their cubs. It can be difficult for a sow to watch the water for incoming fish and watch a pair of fidgety fur balls. Many a mother bear has learned that sharing the catch with their little ones keeps them entertained and teaches them how to eat. So, after her prize catch, mom takes a bite or two and passed the remains on to her cub. The two of them retreat to the shore where they will proceed to argue and fight over the meal, but for a brief time, they will keep themselves entertained and engaged. Mom will finder herself more easily able to fish for more salmon. #BrownBears
