Decided to upload some of the other photos that I never really get to post. More landscapes than wildlife.

It was a brisk and windy day when we took the ferry from Juneau to Haines. Winds were blowing at 60mph and we were told that wave hights were as much as 16 feet. It took nearly 1 1/2 extra hours to reach our destination.

I’ve heard it said that bald eagles are as plentiful seagulls in Alaska. In some places that may well be so. Despite a greater presence, I’m still drawn to them each time I see them. Double eagles, however, draw just about everyone’s attention, and I suspect that they’re better than a hole-in-one! #BaldEagles

There are many beautiful things in nature, but few are quite a cute as spring bear cubs. It’s hard to resist the urge to want to hug a young cub, even when it is not engaged in playful behavior. I suspect that the greatest deterrent to doing so is probably mom, who is frequently not far from sight. But, when the youngsters begin to play, the show is frequently better than any academy award winning movie. Snapshots of their mischievous activities evoke unintended, but welcome, emotions. Although these spring cubs are simply trying to gain better position during their wrestling match, one can’t perceive anything short of a heartfelt, warm embrace, when viewing the photo. Our imagination, if allowed, endears us to these creatures. Bring on the imagination! #BrownBearCubs
