What beautiful and majestic place to experience early morning.
As the day before was very cloudy and quite no chance to see the mountains clearly, I decided stay for one more day at this amazing place to witness sunrise the next day.
I was grateful for this opportunity to have an extra day at this trip.
Often it`s the "small things" in life that make it so special.

On the left side you can slightly find the peak of Annapurna I raging 8.091m above sea level.

A wider view of Hafursfell (750m) from the eastern side, Snæfellsnes Peninsula, Iceland.

Have previously posted tighter views of this very attractive landform.

The true nature of the glaciated formation is evident here with the glacial arête of Þrihnúkar at the left rear with the jagged summit of Hafursfell itself to the right looming over the Þverdalur cirque in front of it. I'm not able to find a name for the peak in sunlight but the topograpical map of the landscape strongly resembles a four-bladed propeller with cirques radiating out from the central peak.

Route 54 or Snæfellsnesvegur can be seen snaking westward past Samkomuh and Dalsmynni farms at the foot of the mountain. The Núpá River runs through a fold of land behind these two farms.

The impressive cluster of gabbro peaks forming the Eystrahorn in East Iceland at Hvalnes.

The Eystrahorn itself is the second peak at the left (638m) dominated by Krossasnesfjall (740m) with the farm of Hvalnes at the foot of the mountain. Route 1 aka the Ring Road or Hringvegur runs throught the frame right at the foot of the mountain.

We had been in rain all day but when we turned the corner at Hvalnes toward the SW this is what evidenced a break in the weather.
