This one is for you boo boo.
Music.
PSA: I borrowed the precious little head...but the rest was drawn in. (HOO).
It's taken me over a week. This is the longest I have ever taken on a photo, but g'damn am I proud of the result. I've never hated foliage as much as I do now, but I wouldn't change a thing about this photo.
Thank you for letting me doodle all on ya faz Peas.

First off, let me say this...I kept it simple. It's ironic, because in and of itself; love is anything but simple. Alas, the picture is a snapshot and has very little editing save for a few post edits I like to do for fun and detail addition.
The song that inspired this piece comes from a wonderful movie (and even better book): "Call Me By Your Name."
You can peep the song here.
If it wasn't for this little apricutie in the picture, I would have never known about the movie. So it's due to him that I finally sat down and watched it.
I was worried it would break my heart to see the movie. A heart so worn out from the last few months, I believe I had hardly taken a breath the whole of the movie in fear of swallowing my own chest. I did take a breath when Elio's father sat down with him on the couch and spoke. A long, unbridled, unhinged gasp of air; like CPR for my soul.
Before I go...I will leave you with this: a quote from the book that resonated so deep within me, I have to share it with you. Maybe it will reach you when you need it most, just like it did me.
"Right now you may not want to feel anything. Perhaps you never wished to feel anything. And perhaps it's not me that you'll want to speak about these things. But feel something you did.
You had a beautiful friendship. Maybe more than a friendship. And I envy you. In my place, most parents would hope the whole thing goes away, or pray that their sons land on their feet soon enough. But I am not such a parent. In your place, if there is pain, nurse it, and if there is a flame, don't snuff it out, don't be brutal with it. Withdrawal can be a terrible thing when it keeps us awake at night, and watching others forget us sooner than we'd want to be forgotten is no better. We rip out so much of ourselves to be cured of things faster than we should that we go bankrupt by the age of thirty and have less to offer each time we start with someone new. But to feel nothing as to not feel anything---what a waste!
Then let me say one more thing. It will clear the air. I may have come close, but I never had what you had. Something always held me back or stood in the way. How you live your life is your business. But remember, our hearts and our bodies are given to us only once. Most of us can't help but live as though we've got two lives to live, one is the mockup, the other the finished version, and then there are all those versions in between. But there's only one, and before you know it, your heart is worn out, and, as for your body, there comes a point when no one looks at it, much less wants to come near it. Right now there's sorrow. I don't envy the pain. But I envy you the pain."
“Everyone goes through a period of Traviamento - when we take, say, a different turn in life, the other via. Dante himself did. Some recover, some pretend to recover, some never come back, some chicken out before even starting, and some, for fear of taking any turns, find themselves leading the wrong life all life long.”
-- André Aciman
You can watch the quote here from the movie. It's worth it, and I hope it reaches you.
Happy Valentine's Day.
