I used an elliptically shaped radial filter in Lightroom to put a slight emphasis on the central part of this image, as it is fairly flat under cloudy lighting conditions. The filter not only increases exposure by a few tenths of an EV, but also clarity, saturation, and color temperature. I’m pretty pleased with the result; it has the look of some subtle lighting on the focus of the shot.
Also gradient filtering and a bit of low-density adjustment brush to de-emphasize background features that are crowding into the foreground needles. Bokeh from the f/4.5 aperture is pretty good, but Lightroom helped me distinguish foreground from background a bit better. I didn’t open up the lens any further because the needles have considerable depth of field at this close range.
