I had to go up to the shops this morning. Up until now, either G has been doing the little extra shops we've needed, or one or other of the people we've got to know here has been kind enough to do it for us.
No-one available today, so it was up to me. Went past the banana tree and turned up the side road when I got to it. But stopped a woman to check on the directions.
She was going the same way, so said she'd walk with me up to where the shops were. She's African, but I forgot to ask from where, but was brought up in the UK. So speaks perfect English, What a lovely surprise.
On top of that, she lives in the house with the banana tree in the garden. On our way home, she showed me that it had inflorescences, or flower buds. I could hardly believe my eyes. I thought it amazing when I found my first one in Perros, but never dreamt that I'd find them here too.
Once I'd had some lunch, I walked up to take some photos, she warned me that they'd be beginning to disappear soon, being so late in the season.
