The exhibition "The Flying Poet, Santos Dumont" presents the capacity of the Brazilian inventor, a visionary who dedicated himself to science and technology inspired by art. With audiovisual language and interactive activities, the environment includes prototypes of Santos Dumont's main creations and two full-size replicas: at the entrance to the Museum, the pioneer 14bis; and, at the site of the exhibition, the airplane Demoiselle, more complete project of the inventor.
In the year in which 110 years of the 14bis flight are celebrated - the first officially approved of History - Santos Dumont is the guiding thread for a tour through the history of flying.
This BRAZILIAN AVIATOR was flying with the 14-Bis in the city of Paris, on 10/25/1906. The plane sailed 60 meters without the aid of a device and at a height of two meters from the ground.

The exhibition is divided into five environments. In the main room, seven small-scale models created by Santos Dumont – from the Brasil balloon to the Demoiselle plane, a synthesis of all his projects, including the 14bis – show the evolution of the technology developed by the inventor. On interactive screens, several layers of content unfold, bringing together documents, images and digitized historical photos.
A life-size Demoiselle (built in Cidade do Samba and transported to the Museum of Tomorrow) will be on display and visitors will compete for a virtual “flight” through Paris and Rio de Janeiro in the early 20th century, through an edition of video. A documentary about the trajectory of Santos Dumont occupies the Cinema room, while in the Balloon Room a film walks through the inventions that inspired the poet and the evolution of the dream of flying, since Leonardo Da Vinci's drawings.
