Said Socrates: there is only one good, knowledge, and only an evil, ignorance. There was an afternoon in Cairo when I heard the whole neighborhood singing the same thing. They were the meccas and neighbors inviting everyone to pray.
When you get to know Islam and its dogmas, all the nonsense and prejudice that we see on TV and in the news will fall on the ground. Of course it is perverse, for example, the Taliban control in Afghanistan and the radical Shia imposed by them that oppress women, kill gays and destroy families.
Egypt is considered the most liberal Muslim country of all, many women in the streets of Cairo do not wear a veil. Some hate it, others take pride in displaying it.
I confess that I found Islam an impressive religion, which further increased my respect. The five pillars of Islam are five basic duties of every Muslim:
*the recitation and acceptance of belief (Chahada or Shahada);
*pray five times throughout the day (Salah, Salat, or Salah);
*to pay alms (Zakat or Zakah);
*observe the fasting in Ramadan (Saum or Siyam);
*to make the pilgrimage to Mecca (Hajj), if it has the physical and financial conditions.
By the way, do you know where the sacred Mecca is that the TV displays once a year? Saudi Arabia.

The Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi Mosque is an Egyptian mosque in the city of Alexandria. It is dedicated to the 13th century Murcian Andalusi Sufi saint Abul Abbas al-Mursi, whose tomb it contains.
It is located in the Anfoushi neighborhood of Alexandria, near the Citadel of Qaitbay.
The mosque was redesigned and built in today's current form by Eugenio Valzania and Mario Rossi in the years 1929/1945, and was highly influenced by Egypt's Old Cairo buildings and architecture.
