Not to worry, that boy is doing fine. After smearing himself with animal blood, the young boy lies down among the passing crowd. The set-up, meant to induce pity and sympathy, allows him and his friends to collect a lot of money. Enough to buy cigarettes and glue (a cheap drug which they will sniff all day).
