This little black dress is made of luxuriously soft velvet. It is as short as I dare to wear out in public and is a little stretchy and very close fitting so it tends to ride up if I'm not careful to tug it down often. The finishing touch is the little frilly hem, which flips and flicks as I walk.

I was so thrilled to find it on the reduced price rail!

A smart skirt can be very cozy, even on a bitter winter's day, if it is woolen and has an elegant length.

When I put on my coat, scarf and gloves I'll be all snug and safe from the cold, except perhaps my feet and it takes some seriously bad weather to get me out of heels!
