It has been a few months since I opened Flickr. There is no personal disaster for me. On one hand, part of my life is good, with strong and loving family connections. As you may know, I am not out to them: I always rely on opportunity to provide days and evenings when I can escape to go out as Emma. For the past three months my family has been closer than ever and that means few opportunities, all of which were aborted due to a last minute change in plans. Therefore on the other hand, my life as Emma in practically in a coma. You will understand just how my frustration has built up.

I have reacted by not making plans which I know will fail. It avoids the disappointment of cancellation. With no photos and no news for my sisters, I even ceased to look at pics and email some weeks ago. I didn't feel so bad about not going out with my sisters if I couldn't see what I was missing.

Now I suddenly have a clear couple of days. Nothing will go wrong, will it? I don't like to count my chickens, but I am here, nobody else is around and Emma has reawakened! I've not been shopping for ages, so today I visited the charity shops, hoping for some lucky finds.

This fabulous cocktail dress was found in a charity shop. The moment I saw it I knew I had to try it on. It was a bit of a wriggle to adjust because it fits like a second skin. When I turned to the mirror I fell in love with it and just had to buy it.

Now it needs the right occasion for an evening out. A Valentine's dinner for two would be perfect!
